Demonstrations and sit-ins continue in Lebanese areas, with roads blocked and schools, universities and banks closed

On November 13, Sit-ins and demonstrations continued in some Lebanese areas demanding accountability for corrupt people, improvement of the living conditions of citizens and prevention of the imposition of new taxes.

Protesters blocked several roads in Beirut, Tripoli, Sidon, Khaldeh, Zahle, Chouf, Damour, Batroun, Jbeil, Khroub, Baalbeck, Hasbaya, Marjayoun, Dahr el-Ain, Koura, Siblin, Metn, Jal El Dib, Aley and Zgharta.

The majority of public and private schools, banks and a number of public institutions are closed.

The Lebanese army is working to open these roads amid the heavy deployment on the road to the Presidential Palace and take tight security measures are being taken in case of any emergency.

Since October 17, there have been demonstrations and sit-ins in many Lebanese areas in protest against the deteriorating living conditions and economic situations.
