Delegation of Syrian Expatriates in Sweden Visiting Syria to Support Their Homeland

DAMASCUS, (ST)-A delegation of Syrian expatriates in Sweden is currently visiting Syria to voice solidarity with their homeland and discuss ways to help the country confront and surpass the outcomes of the crisis.

 Members of the delegation represent the “Committee for Defending Syria in Sweden”, which was established at the beginning of the terrorist war on Syria to defend and support it through explaining what is really going on in the country and through encouraging Syrian expatriate businessmen to return home and take part in its reconstruction.

The committee comprises physicians, businessmen and public figures.

   The delegation on Monday visited the Ministry of Information and met with Information Minister Imad Sara, according to Committee’s facebook page.

 Talks focused on the media war waged on Syria and the mechanism through which the expatriates are contributing to convey the real image of what is happening in Syria.

The talks also dealt with preparations for launching a TV channel in Sweden to help explain the reality of events in Syria to the Swedish and European public opinion.

Also, the delegation held talks with Speaker of the People’s Assembly Hammouda Sabbagh on the role of the Syrian expatriates in defending their homeland against the terrorist, media and economic war and in conveying the truth about what is really going on in Syria.

Sabbagh hailed the efforts being exerted by the Syrian expatriates to defend their  country against all distortion attempts.

On his part, head of the delegation, Dr. Ibrahim Ibrahim, said that the Syrian expatriates have spared no effort to convey the real image about Syria to the European public opinion, particularly in Sweden.

He added that one of the main objectives of the delegation’s visit is to encourage Syrian businessmen in Sweden to carry out investments in the homeland after normal life has returned to wide areas in the country.

Milad Malki, a businessmen and a member of the delegation, talked to SANA about the wide participation of the Syrian businessmen in Sweden in Damascus International Fair, stressing the businessmen’s keenness on promoting the Syrian products in European countries.

He also affirmed that the Syrian expatriate businessmen are enthusiastic to carry out investment projects in Syria, pointing out that some of them have already started.
