Delegation of 15 Foreign Journalists Visits Deir Ezzor

DEIR EZZOR, (ST)- A media delegation comprising 15 journalists from America and Europe started a visit to the Syrian city of Deir Ezzor to know about the situation of the province after the Syrian Arab army managed to break ISIS siege and advance further in the countryside of the province.

During their meeting with Governor of Deir Ezzor Mohammad Ibrahim Samra, members of the delegation hailed the steadfastness of the city’s people in the face of ISIS terrorism, pointing out that their visit aims at knowing about life in the recently liberated city and about the impacts of the siege on the locals.

On his part, the governor talked about the suffering of the city under ISIS three-year siege, noting the government’s constant efforts to restore normal life to Deir Ezzor and to the villages, cities and towns liberated by the Syrian army.

Samra also affirmed the importance of conveying the real image about what is going on in Syria and about the bad impacts of the western sanctions imposed on Syria on the process of reconstruction, particularly as Syria is fighting terrorism on behalf of the entire world.

The Syrian government is keen on allowing all Arab and foreign journalists, who seek getting acquainted with what is really going on in Syria, to enter the country and know about the crimes being perpetrated by the foreign-backed terrorist groups against the Syrian people and infrastructure and about the role being played by the Syrian army in the fight against terrorism.
