Deir Ezzour city’ residents: “We support Russia”

DEIR EZZOUR, March.16, (ST)-The residents of Deir Ezzour city staged on Wednesday a solidarity stand with Russia and its people and in rejection of the Western and US policies that aim to undermine Russia’s stability and security. 
 
The participants in the stand raised the flags of Syria and Russia and the portraits of the two President Bashar al-Assad and Vladimir Putin, as well as banners that read: “We support Russia.”
 
 They stressed Russia’s right to protect the civilians in Donetsk and Lugansk from the continuous Nazi practices of the nationalists in Ukraine. 
 
They in addition blamed the US and its western allies for the losses that hit Ukraine and other countries in the world.   
 
The participants in the stand stressed that Russia is a major power and it respects the international law and UN resolutions and it has never been against the peoples’ interests. 
 
The also affirmed that the US and its allies seek to spread terrorism in the region. 
 
On February 24, Putin announced a special military operation in response to a request for help by the heads of the Donbass republics. He stressed that Moscow had no plans of occupying Ukrainian territories. Afterward, the US, EU, UK and some other countries said they were imposing sanctions on Russian individuals and legal entities.
