Deir Ezzor schools receive more students this year

Due to the apparent increase in the number of families returning to their areas, Deir Ezzor Governorate’s schools received more than 128,000 students at the beginning of the school year amid a state of stability and security. A large number of schools that were vandalized by ISIS Takfiri terrorists have been reconstructed.

The beginning of the educational process this year is different from the previous years as a large number of schools were rehabilitated in the areas whose children have been deprived of education for about four years as terrorists prevented the children from going to the governmental schools and they tried to impose different backwards teaching methods that spread the Takfiri mentality.

Director of Education in Deir ez-Zor Khalil Haj Obeid confirmed that the Directorate of Education has taken all preparations for the success of the educational process in the province, pointing out that the schools received about 128 thousand students, an increase of about 17 thousand compared to the previous year and the number of schools in the province reached 310 with an increase of 42 schools in comparison with the last year.

“42 schools were rehabilitated and all schools were equipped with seats, school books and other necessary prerequisites”, Obeid added

Obeid said that as a result of the significant increase in the number of students returning to school and overcrowding in some schools, the two-class system has been implemented in a number of the city’s schools to accommodate the growing number of students.

The students expressed happiness in returning to their schools after being deprived from pursuing their education over the past years due to the terrorism, highly appreciating the sacrifices of the Syrian Arab Army in liberate every inch of the Syrian territories.
