Deir el-Zor Dignitaries: Settlement an Opportunity for Those Gone Astray

Notables and sons of Deir el-Zor believe that settlement is an opportunity for those who went astray from the path of truth to return to their normal life. The settlement center in the town of Al-Shmaitiyeh, west of Deir el-Zor, continued to receive those wishing to settle their status within the framework of the ongoing comprehensive settlement process for the people of the Governorate. The settlement process was launched on the fourteenth of November 2021. Thousands of citizens, mostly from the Syrian Jazeera region, joined the process.

The Governorate notables and tribal dignitaries made statements  that the settlement is an opportunity that carries in its contents tolerance and pardon for everyone whose hands are not stained with blood. The settlement process is a chance for those who went astray to go back to cultivate their land, raise their livestock, and return to school.

The notables believed that the high turnout for settlement centers is a clear message that reflects everyone’s desire to return to the bosom of the homeland. The Governorate dignitaries called on all those involved in the settlement to join the process.

A number of citizens whose legal status has been settled indicated that the procedures are carried out with ease. The settlement process will continue in the coming days to allow all wanted civilians and fleeing military personnel who have failed the mandatory and reserve services the opportunity to return to the bosom of the homeland.
