Defense Mjnister: Our brave army will achieve victory over terrorism and restore stability to all parts of the homeland
Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Army and Armed Forces, Minister of Defense, General Ali Mahmoud Abbas, stressed that the hero Syrian Arab Army stands with determination and resolve to confront the colonial project targeting Syria and the region, and will be able to achieve victory over terrorism, its tools and supporters, and to restore security and stability to every inch of the beloved homeland.
General Abbas said in a phone call today with the Syrian TV Channel on the 79th anniversary of the foundation of the Syrian Arab Army: “I seize this opportunity to salute the brave men of our armed forces in all their positions and workplaces as they work day and night tirelessly, performing the most heroic deeds, making all sacrifices, and expressing the truest expression of their commitment to their national duties and tasks in a sincere and solid reflection of our ancient history and human civilization”.
The Minister of Defense added: “On behalf of all of the soldiers of the Syrian Arab Army, I extend my appreciation and respect to the families of our righteous martyrs and the wounded heroes of our armed forces, who are truly the highest model of sacrifice and redemption. On this precious occasion, we raise the highest expressions of loyalty and devotion to the homeland and the leader of the homeland, President, Lieutenant General Bashar al-Assad, and we pledge him to always remain faithful to the covenant and oath in defending the homeland and preserving the dignity of the citizen”.
General Abbas explained that the Syrian Arab Army has played a very important role since its establishment until today, and this national role was the foundation that protected Syria and fortified it in the face of dangers, challenges and foreign colonial projects throughout history, and guaranteed Syria an ambitious position and an important status in the region and the world. He pointed out that no one denies the national role of our valiant army in standing by the Arab brothers in hardships and calamities, and therefore the first goal of the terrorist aggressive war was to weaken the Syrian Arab Army and undermine its nationalist status and role, and thus facilitate control over the entire region, and extinguish the flame of resistance, of which Syria is the starting point, carrier and main pillar.
The Minister of Defense pointed out that our valiant army was able to thwart all attempts aimed at undermining Syria’s sovereignty, independence and the dignity of its people, and today, in cooperation with friends and solidarity with our steadfast and proud people, Syria stands with determination and resolve to confront the colonial project targeting Syria and the region in general, and we are confident that this brave army will be able to achieve victory over terrorism, its tools and supporters and will restore security and stability to every inch of our beloved homeland.

General Abbas stated that the forces supporting terrorism are still continuing their aggression because they have a major interest in plundering Syria’s wealth of oil, wheat, antiquities and other materials, and in the continuation of the crisis in Syria indefinitely. Therefore, the forces of terrorism are working hard to obstruct the mission of the Syrian Arab Army in eliminating terrorism and restoring all occupied areas, stressing at the same time that this great army, which has fought terrorism and its supporters with the same will and determination for more than a decade, and has stood firm and achieved great accomplishments as acknowledged by the enemy before the friend, is an army capable of liberating every occupied inch of our beloved land, and eliminating terrorists wherever they are and whoever their supporters and sponsors are.
The Minister of Defense stressed that only those who are good at reading history are able to anticipate and draw the features of the future, and that those who possess the right and are endowed with will and steadfastness are the ones who write the headlines of the bright future. Therefore, the future of Syria will be bright and prosperous, because Syria has a wise leader who manages the helm with courage and competence, who does not compromise and does not accept submission despite the pressures and challenges, and because Syria has a proud and daring army that has experienced all types of combat and has excelled in dealing with various types of weapons, and has succeeded in carrying out the most complex and difficult combat missions that the most modern armies in the world are unable to accomplish, and because Syria has a steadfast and resistant people who rally around their leader and army, and stand proudly and vigorously in the face of sanctions, siege, terrorism and destruction.
General Abbas extended his congratulations to the Syrian Arab Army and people, indicating that the men of the army derive strength, determination and hope from the blood of the martyrs and the sacrifices of the wounded, and that they will remain in the fields of honor and manhood, holding the trigger behind the banner of the leader of the nation, PresidentBashar al-Assad.
