Defense Minister visits one of the army’s units on Independence Day
Damascus – Upon the directives of President Bashar al-Assad, Commander-in-Chief of the army and armed forces, and on the occasion of Independence day, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the army, Defense Minister Fahd Jasem al-Freij payed Sunday a field visit to one of the army’s formations, offering congratulations to the soldiers on this occasion, SANA reported.
During the visit, Defense Minister conveyed President al-Assad’s appreciation of the soldiers’ heroism, praising the efforts exerted by men of the army against the terrorist organizations until eliminating them and uproot terrorism.
He affirmed that the Syrian people who defeated and dismissed the French occupation continue today eliminating its tools through their commitment to the national unity and support to its leadership and army.
Different units of the army celebrated today the 70th anniversary of liberating the Homeland from the French occupation.
