Defense Minister visits military positions in Palmyra

Homs – Upon the directives of President Bashar al-Assad, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Army and Armed Forces, Defense Minister Gen. Fahd Jassem al-Freij on Tuesday conducted a field tour of military positions and posts in Palmyra in the eastern countryside of Homs province.

Accompanied by officers from the General Command, Gen. al-Freij met soldiers at their positions and conveyed to them President al-Assad’s appreciation of their bravery and heroics in fighting terrorists and offered them greetings on occasion of Eid al-Adha holiday.

 

The Defense Minister was briefed by the commanding officers on the situation on the ground and the nature of the operations conducted in the area, with al-Freij lauding the soldiers’ high morale and spirit and affirming that the battle will continue until terrorism is eliminated and security and stability are restored to every inch of Syria, SANA reported.
