Defense Minister visits injured army personnel, Chief of General Staff visits military positions in Quneitra

 

Damascus – Upon the directives of President Bashar al-Assad, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Army and Armed Forces, Defense Minister Gen. Fahd Jassem al-Freij visited on Monday morning injured army personnel at Tishreen Military Hospital.

Gen. al-Freij, accompanied by officers from the General Command of the Army and Armed Forces, checked up on the injured personnel and congratulated them on occasion of Eid al-Adha holiday, wishing them a swift recovery, and conveying to them President al-Assad’s pride in their heroic sacrifices, while the medical staff briefed the Defense Minister on the injuries sustained by the personnel and the care provided to them, SANA reported.

Meanwhile, Chief of the General Staff of the Army and Armed Forces Gen. Ali Abdullah Ayoub, accompanied by officers from the General Command, conducted a field tour of military positions and posts in the countryside of Quneitra province.

Gen. Ayoub met soldiers at their positions and conveyed to them President al-Assad’s appreciation of their efforts in fighting terrorists and offered them holiday greetings, SANA added.

He inspected the situation on the ground and the nature of the operations conducted in the area, lauding the soldiers’ high morale and fighting spirit.

Also on occasion of Eid al-Adha holiday, army commanding officers visited martyrs’ cemeteries to pay their respects and lay wreaths at the memorials in them, in addition to visiting injured army personnel in military hospitals.
