Defense Minister visits army units in Daraa and its countryside

Daraa – Upon the directives of President Bashar al-Assad, the Commander-in-Chief of the army and armed forces, and on the 71st  anniversary of Independence Day, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Army and Armed Forces, Defense Minister Gen. Fahd Jassem al-Freij visited on Monday army units operating in Daraa and its countryside, SANA reported.

Gen. al-Freij congratulated army’s officers and soldiers on this occasion, conveying to them President al-Assad’s greetings and appreciation for their steadfastness and sacrifices in defending the homeland.

 

He inspected the army forces’ combat readiness and their capability of carrying out their tasks to thwart the terrorist groups’ attempts to attack civilians and the Syrian military positions.

Al-Freij lauded the soldiers’ high morale, heroic acts and sacrifices to defend the homeland and preserve its sovereignty.

In turn, officers and soldiers stressed determination to fulfill their national duties and defend the homeland until the restoration of security and stability to Syria.
