Defense Minister: Syrian Army to Continue Fight against Terrorism until Syria is Fully Cleaned of Terrorists

DAMASCUS, (ST)- The Syrian Arab army will continue the fight against terrorism until the entire Syrian territory is fully cleaned of terrorists, Deputy Commander in Chief of the Army and Armed Forces, Defense Minister, Gen. Fahd Jasem al-Freij has stressed.

Gen. Al-Freij made the remarks on Sunday during a People’s Assembly (PA) session chaired by PA Speaker Hammoudeh al-Sabbagh. The session was dedicated to discussing issues relating to enhancing the steadfastness of the Syrian Arab army in the battle with terrorism.

 The minister briefed the People’s Assembly on the victories being achieved by the Syrian army against the takfiri terrorists across the country.

“The Syrian Arab army has preserved Syria’s sovereignty and independence and offered huge number of martyrs to guarantee a bright and prosperous dignified future for Syria and the steadfast Syrian people, Gen. Al-Freij said.

Restoring security to Syria will reflect positively on region’s stability

He added that the top priority of the government’s work is to provide all requirements necessary for consolidating the steadfastness of the army in the confrontation of the terrorist organization, clarifying that restoring stability and security to all parts of Syria will reflect positively on the security and stability of the region.
