Death toll from landmine explosion in Daraa countryside rises to 11

The death toll from the explosion of a landmine, left behind by terrorist groups in the town of Deir Al-Adas in Daraa northern countryside, has risen to 11 after 6 persons from the other thirty injured ones, who were transferred to the hospital, died.

Earlier, the Syrian Arab News Agency reported that five civilians were martyred and thirty others were injured on Saturday when a landmine, left behind by terrorist groups in the town of Deir Al-Adas in Daraa northern countryside, exploded.

The Ministry of Interior said in a statement that a landmine, left behind by terrorist groups, exploded when a truck carrying workers, who were going to harvest wheat in Al-Ouyoun area, to the east of Deir Al-Adas town in Daraa province, ran over it.

The blast claimed the lives of 11 people and injured 26 others, the ministry added.

The ministry went on to say that the Syrian army engineering units dismantled two landmines and an anti-tank mine 25 meters away from the explosion site.

According to Director of Daraa Health Ashraf Barmou, 17 of the injured persons were transferred to Al-Mujtahed Hospital in Damascus and the rest remained in Al-Sanamein Hospital in Daraa.
