Death toll from Izmir earthquake rises to 100 deaths

Ankara (ST): The death toll from the earthquake which hit the Aegean  Sea opposite the city of Izmir to the west of Turkey has amounted to 100 deaths and hundreds of injuries.

Anatolia News Agency quoted  a statement by the Turkish Agency for the  Administration of Disasters and Emergencies as saying that the death toll from the earthquake rose to 100 and the wounded to 994.

The Administration added that about 1323 tremors took place during the past few days with a strength exceeding four  on the Richter Scale.
