Tripoli (ST): The death toll from the torrents and floods that struck the Libyan city of Derna on the 10th of this month has risen to more than 4,000 people, according to the Libyan National Army.
Army spokesman Ahmed Al-Mismari said in a statement on his official website: “The latest death toll from the floods and torrents that struck the city of Derna until September 24 reached 4,029”, adding that there are 87 bodies of Egyptians who are not included in the statistics and have been handed over to the Egyptian authorities.
On September 10, a devastating hurricane swept several areas in eastern Libya, causing great devastation and resulting in thousands of deaths, injuries, and missing people.
