De Mistura arrives in Damascus

DAMASCUS,(ST)_The United Nations Envoy to Syria Staffan De Mistura arrived here today afternoon on a three-day visit, media sources said.

The sources clarified that de Mistura’s visit is the second to the country since being named for the post in July.

Following his meeting with President Bashar al-Assad in Damascus last September, the diplomat told reporters: “terrorist threat has become a world concern and fighting terrorism is a priority for us.”

He also indicated necessity of helping Syrians to reach a comprehensive political solution taking into consideration recent developments, including the danger of terrorist groups.
