Davutoglu’s Infiltration into Syrian Lands Violates International Law, Aims to Cover Terrorists’ Losses – al-Mikdad

DAMASCUS, (ST)-The Infiltration of the Turkish Prime Minster Ahmet Davutoglu into the Syrian territories under the pretext of visiting the new site of Suleyman Shah‘s tomb near the Syrian-Turkish borders, is a flagrant violation of international laws and countries’ sovereignty, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Faysal al-Mikdad told al-Mayadeen Channel in a phone call last night.

The Syrian diplomat reiterated that the Turkish government of the Justice and Development Party is completely involved in supporting terrorism and that the relation between Turkey and the terrorist organizations, particularly ISIS and al-Nousra Front, has become evident.

Al-Mikdad pointed out that Davutoglu’s infiltration indicates the Turkish government’s attempt to cover the losses inflicted upon the terrorists groups in different parts of Syria due to the successes of the Syrian Arab Army and the fast collapse of the Turkish-backed terrorists.

“We said long time ago that the issue of the Suleiman Shah’s tomb, which is being used by the Turkish government as a pretext for interference in Syria, is of no value at all and we informed the Security Council months ago that if the Turkish government was keen on the historical value of the tomb it would move it into the Turkish territories,” al-Mikdad said.

He pointed out that the Turkish government’s behavior shows how much it is involved in violating international laws and countries’ sovereignty, stressing that Turkey will be held accountable for its aggressive acts.

Al-Mikdad asserted that the support provided by the government of the Justice and Development Party has been exposed by all media outlets and was proved by the Turkish judges and investigators themselves.

“Such support is an attempt to undermine Syria’s steadfastness, al-Mikdad said, stressing that the Syrian army is fighting terrorism and the Turkish leadership will realize that it won’t make any achievements on the Syrian lands, because Syria is determined to protect its sovereignty and prevent any interference in its internal affairs.
