Daraa City Council Marketplace to facilitate economic activities

DARAA, Feb.15, (ST)- Daraa City Council has rehabilitated marketplace that had been destroyed by the former regime.

According to the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA ), the rehabilitation of the area, which is surrounding the “Saraya” building in the heart of the city, comes with the council’s plan to improve the situation and facilitate the movement of citizens and economic activities in the city.

SANA quoted the Council’s Head Eng. Mohammad Ayyash as saying: “The Council has a well-thought-out plan targeting the various affected neighborhoods to enhance commercial activity and provide a more suitable environment for residents and merchants.”‏

As a result of the crimes of the former regime, 20 residential neighborhoods out of 25 ones were damaged in the city of Daraa, 5,000 different commercial establishments were put out of service.

Those establishments are located in in Al-Shuhadaa, Hanano, and Quwatli Streets.

Moreover, the vicinity of the National Hospital, Basri Square, vegetable market, and Amash, Hamed and Al-Rahma malls had been destroyed by the former regime.
