Dandi : Israeli occupation, with US support, seeks to ignite the region

The Acting Chargé d’Affaires of the Permanent Delegation of Syria to the United NationsAl-Hakam Dendi affirmed that the Israeli occupation, backed by the United States, seeks through the continuation of  its aggression against the Palestinian people and its repeated attacks on Syrian and Lebanese lands, to ignite the region in a way that cannot be contained.

He indicated that the United States prevented the Security Council from adopting a resolution to stop the aggression against Gaza Strip, which proves its involvement  in the killing of the Palestinian people and in all the crimes of the occupation in the region.

“This important meeting comes as a result of the United States of America’s use of the “veto” during the Security Council session to protect  Israel and provide it with immunity to continue  its  war crimes against humanity and genocide that it commits without fear of accountability or punishment” Dandi  said during a session of the General Assembly on Wednesday .

Dendi added: ” Syria, along with the vast majority of countries in the world, have condemned the crimes committed and are still being committed by the Israeli occupation against the Palestinian people, not only in Gaza but in the entire occupied Palestinian territories through carrying out  systematic killing and destruction,  Forced displacement and the unjust siege of the Gaza Strip, in addition to its use of internationally prohibited weapons disregarding the Charter of the United Nations and all international laws and humanitarian principles,” the Syrian diplomat added”.

He pointed out that the whole world has witnessed the brutality of this aggression and its massacres against the Palestinians in Gaza, where more than twenty-three thousand Palestinians have been martyred so far, the majority of whom are women and children.

Dundee said: “Syria condemns the United States’ shameful use of the “veto” again to prolong the bloody massacres committed by the Israeli occupation against the Palestinian people and obstruct for decades the implementation of international resolutions related to the Palestinian question and the Arab conflict .

The Acting Chargé d’affaires of the Permanent Delegation of Syria to the United Nations noted that the Israeli occupation authorities seek, by insisting on continuing their aggression against the Palestinian people, to ignite and blow up the region  in a way that cannot be contained, denouncing in this regard  its violations against our people in the occupied Syrian Golan, and its repeated attacks on Syrian territory by targeting civilian airports and infrastructure, in addition to  its attacks on Lebanon.

“Syria reaffirms its support for the inalienable rights of the brotherly Palestinian people in their struggle to liberate their occupied land and establish their independent  state with Jerusalem as its capital, and implement the relevant UN resolutions” Dandi stressed.

He necessitated the urgent need to immediately stop the Israeli aggression, put an end to its crimes, and provide urgent humanitarian support to the people in the Gaza Strip, prevent forced displacement, and ensure that “Israel” and its supporters are held accountable and that they do not escape punishment.
