Damascus University honors 125 of its top graduates

On August 19th, the University of Damascus, in cooperation with the National Union of Syrian Students, honored 125 male and female students from the top students in its colleges for the academic year 2021-2022.

Muhammad Osama Al -Jabban, Rector of Damascus University stressed that the University has  been a source of excellence and creativity for a hundred years.

Eng. Qasim Al -Ali, Head of the Damascus University branch of the National Union of Syrian Students said that this ceremony will be an annual ceremony to award top students.

Al -Ali expressed the deep thanks and gratitude for the attention and  generous care of President Bashar al -Assad and the first lady Asma al -Assad to all students in general and top students  in particular.

Representing  excelling students  , Perrin Marzouq, thanked the presidency of the University of Damascus and the National Union of Syrian Students for their support to students.

In a statement to the media,the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Bassam Ibrahim, said that these top students will be assistant teachers at the university to follow up their post -graduate studies and their educational achievement.

The ceremony included lyrical paragraphs for the singers Maya Zainuddin and Majdi Abu Asfour led by Maestro Mahdi Al -Mahdi.

The ceremony was attended by Dr. Darine Suleiman, Chairperson of the National Union of Syrian Students, Engineer Ayham Hourani, member of the leadership of the Damascus University branch of the Arab Socialist Baath Party, and a number of members of the Executive Office of the Student Union.
