Damascus, Moscow say that illegitimate US presence in Syria hinders the return of normal life to the country
DAMASCUS, (ST)_The Syrian and Russian Coordination Commissions have affirmed that the Syrian government continues with its efforts to create suitable circumstances for the return of its displaced citizens to their houses and to settle their status as soon as possible. They asserted that the illegitimate presence of the US forces and their allies hinders the return of normal life to all areas in Syria.
The two commissions said in a statement released on Sunday that they work on helping Syrian citizens to voluntary return to their homeland and to restore normal life, referring to the fact that around 2.306.584 Syrian citizens have returned to the places they chose to live in.
They made it clear that the Syrian government exerts its utmost to rehabilitate infrastructures in all fields including health and education and to create new job opportunities for the Syrians, who return to their homeland.
The statement indicated that 25 facilities in the fields of textile, medical, tourist industries and education contributed to the exhibition that was organized by the Committee of Young Investors at the Chamber of Industry in Aleppo created job opportunities for citizens.
It pointed out that the Syrian government attaches great importance to fighting Covid-19. “For example, the Ministry of Health set up 9 mobile health centers in Hasakah province to curb the spread of the pandemic in northeast Syria.”
The commissions underlined that the United States launches fake reports on the situation in Syria and imposes sanctions on Syria and loots its resources to hinders the Syria government’s efforts to restore normal life to people.
They referred to the recent study issued by the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees in which it said that finding a dignified and safe shelter continues to be a struggle, with almost 60 per cent of Syrian refugee families living in a dangerous, substandard, or overcrowded shelters. The study shows that those refugees might join extremist and terrorist groups in the areas that are outside the control of the Syrian government.
The commissions called on the international community to abide by it obligations related to offering support to the UN in accordance with the UN resolution No. 2585 to develop the work in Syria.
They added that Washington has not been serious in offering security guarantees to evacuate Al-Rukban camp’s residents, calling on the US and its allies to stop their destructive acts in economic and social fields in Syria and to lift tge sanctiins that hinder reconstruction process in the country.
