On May 3’s evening, the “Damascus” Jazz Band, led by musician Dalama Shehab, held a concert on the occasion of the International Day of Jazz. The event was held on the stage of the Drama Theater at Dar Al-Assad for Culture and Arts.
The celebration program included the presentation of 13 jazz musical masterpieces for songs belonging to American and European authors.
The celebration provided an opportunity for communication between musicians of different ages, including those who went on stage for the first time with specialized professors at the Higher Institute of Music and at Salahi Al-Wadi Insutitue.
It is noteworthy that the “Damascus” Jazz band, which was founded in 2018, includes musicians with extensive experience in this style. It participated with the Syrian Jazz Orchestra in 2005 in most of its concerts.
