DAMASCUS, Jun.22, (ST)-The Ministry of Transport announced on Wednesday that Damascus International Airport will return to service as of tomorrow [Thursday] after completing the maintenance of the damage caused by the recent Israeli missile attack on the country.
In a statement to the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA), the Minister of Transport, Zuhair Khozaym, confirmed that all air transports can schedule their arriving and departing flights through the airport as of tomorrow, noting that the airport will work with all its energy to serve passengers and operating companies as the maintenance of the severe damage to the airport runways and its equipment was completed.
Khuzayem referred to the great efforts of the national cadres, who worked around the clock to reopen the airport and operate it within safety and security measures.
The Director-General of the Syrian Arab Airlines, Shefaa Al-Nouri, affirmed that tomorrow morning the operation of flights from Damascus International Airport will be resumed, noting that all travel tickets booked as of tomorrow are valid and their flights will run as planned.
