Damascus History Foundation Signs an Agreement with Wikipedia to Improve the Damascene Historical Digital Content

Damascus History  Foundation has signed an agreement with (Wikipedia of the Levant) with the aim of improving the digital content related to the history of the city of Damascus on the Arabic global Wikipedia .. 

According to a statement published by  Damascus History Foundation on its website, it will make a  historical review of any  content of the city on the Wikipedia site , correct every mistake it contains, and provide the site’s administrators  with historical information about Damascene events and personalities.

Each material  submitted or reviewed by the Damascus History Foundation  will be sealed   with  the foundation’s logo  and the phrase  “documented  this text by Damascus History Foundation”.

More than a hundred  researches  will be published successively on the Damascus History Foundation page. This project falls under the category of documentation programs provided by the Foundation with the aim of enriching Wikipedia’s content with original articles dealing with various topics.  

The Foundation will later display a project page on its website, which includes  a full catalog  of all articles and researches , which have been  published or revised by the Damascus History Foundation on Wikipedia.

The Damascus History Foundation was established in 2016 and aims to preserve the memory of Damascus by searching for old photos, films, audio, prints, personal papers, unpublished notes, old books, manuscripts and private and official correspondence related to this city and  collected in  an electronic museum to be   at the disposal of those interested and researchers  about  Damascene contemporary history.
