Damascus (ST): Damascus Governorate, in cooperation with the Ministry of Education, honored 108 top students at the level of Damascus governorate in the general secondary and basic education certificates, including 69 from the Jarih al-Watan ( The wounded of the homeland) project.
The honoring ceremony, which was held at Dar Al-Assad for Culture and Arts, included artistic performances.
In his speech the Governor of Damascus, Engineer Muhammad Tariq Krishati clarified that honoring the outstanding students is at the same time a tribute to the families who provided them with the reasons for this excellence and to the teachers and administrative cadres who followed up their educational attainment and helped them to reach these honorable results.
The Assistant Minister of Education, Dr. Mahmoud Bani Al-Marjeh, underlined the importance of honoring this constellation of countrymen who have studied and achieved excellence and proven their ability to assume responsibility, and that honoring them is tantamount to motivating them to pursue excellence in the next stages of their studies.
In a statement to news correspondent, the Director of Education in Damascus, Suleiman Al-Younes, explained that the number of honorees was distributed among 26 male and female students in the basic education certificate and 13 students in the general secondary certificate, in addition to 69 military wounded from the Jarih al-Watan project.
