Damascus Governor discusses with Pakistani Ambassador ways to enhance economic and trade relations 

Governor of Damascus, Engineer Muhammad Tariq Krishati, discussed with the Pakistani Ambassador Shahid Akhtar ways to enhance bilateral relations between the two countries in various fields, especially economy, trade and infrastructure, in a way that achieves the common interest of both sides.

Eng. Krishati affirmed the depth and strength of the relations between the two friendly countries and people, expressing his thanks to the government and people of the Republic of Pakistan for the support it provided to Syria and its people in confronting terrorism. He also thanked the Pakistani government for its positions at international forums, and for providing humanitarian and relief assistance to those affected by the earthquake disaster.

In his turn, Ambassador Akhtar affirmed his country’s firm position on Syria’s right to restore every inch of its occupied lands and its sovereignty over it. He said: The relief assistance provided by Pakistan is considered as the brotherly duty of one’s brother, and we are working to increase the visits of trade delegations and develop investments between the two countries.
