Damascus Chamber of Commerce: lifting economic sanctions is a positive step toward rebuilding bridges of  cooperation between Syria and European Union

The Statement issued by the Damascus Chamber of Commerce regarding the European Union’s decision to lift economic sanctions said:

 

-We deeply welcomed the decision and consider it a positive step in the right direction toward rebuilding bridges of economic and trade cooperation between Syria and the European Union countries.

 

-It represents a qualitative shift towards achieving a new beginning in the path of reconstruction and economic recovery, and contributes to creating a more stable and attractive environment for local and foreign investment.

 

-We emphasize the importance of this step being accompanied by effective European efforts in reconstruction, providing technical and technological support to national institutions, and opening financing and investment channels.

 

-We commend the diplomatic and political efforts that contributed to reaching this decision.We express our hope that it will constitute a starting point for a new phase of openness and fruitful cooperation for the good of Syria and its people.
