Daily Slams Zionists New Illegal Settlement Plan

ˈKayhan Internationalˈ on Wednesday condemned the recent announcement by the criminal Zionist regime that it is appropriating nearly 1,000 acres of land in the West Bank to prepare for further illegal settlement construction.

The announcement has also drawn criticism and condemnation from the international community as well as protests from the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank.News ID: 4628Date: 02 September 2014 .

The anti-settlement group Peace Now has called it the biggest appropriation of West Bank land in 30 years, a criminal act that has been going on for almost 65 years – with full blessings from the United Nations and Western governments, criticized the English-language daily in its Viewpoint column.

Recalling that Britain, along with the UN, came up with the partition plan to give the Zionists a portion of Palestine for their homeland following WW II, the West and the UN are equally responsible and accountable for Palestinian suffering, highlighted the paper.

Over the past 65 years, the Zionist regime has been killing innocent Palestinians, decried the paper, adding that its high time the complicit world and the UN step in and right the wrong they have done in creating Zionists portion in Palestinian land.

The more the Zionist regime is getting away with it, the situation is worsening, and the less likely a Palestinian state will become. Israel does not comply with the 4th Geneva Convention regarding treatment of civilians by an occupying force. In fact, the brutal Zionist regime disregards the Geneva Convention and applies de jure to the West Bank and Gaza strip. This is a clear example which shows that the criminal Zionist regime is above international law, it pointed out.

The Apartheid wall the usurper regime has built has also been ruled illegally by the International Court of Justice, not to mention the hordes of human rights groups. Israel continues to build and steal Palestinian lands and the US keeps on treating the usurper regime as an ally, condemned the daily.

Any attempt by the UNSC to put a curb on the regime’s behavior (issuing a resolution) is vetoed easily by Washington and the rogue regime continues to remains in the world’s good books and chequebooks, highlighted the daily.

Israel is a preposterous regime and a failed ˈstate, despite receiving billions of dollars in aid from the US. So who can blame the Palestinians for feeling despair when the regime on top of all the other bad things it causes in their lives is able to make (block) the world from stopping aid to the Palestinians just because they express their free will, it pointed out.

November 29 is UNˈs ˈInternational Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People.” It occurs on the anniversary of the 1947 date that the UN voted to partition the British Mandate of Palestine between Jews and Arabs. By choosing November 29 as Palestinian day, the UN is in effect rewarding the aggressors who refused to comply with the UN plan.

A much better date for the UN to acknowledge the suffering of the Palestinians would be December 8, the anniversary of the 1949 creation of the organization that, for over half a century, has done more harm than anyone else to undermine the oppressed Palestinians.

That complicit organization is the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA). That there is still the Palestinian refugee problem from a war that ended in 1949 is primarily because of UNRWA’s decision to serve the Zionist regime and maximize Palestinian refugees’ suffering for political gains, underlined the paper in conclusion.
