Da Silva is sworn in as President of Brazil

Rio de Janeiro (ST): Brazilian President-elect Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva has been sworn in as president again.

Reuters reported that da Silva is scheduled to go to the Planalto Palace to put the presidential sash in front of a crowd of 30,000 of his supporters, in the presence of delegations from 50 countries and 19 heads of state and government.

The agency added: Tens of thousands of da Silva’s supporters arrived in the center of the capital Brasilia to celebrate, while the authorities deployed ten thousand police and soldiers to enhance security.

Lula da Silva was elected on October 3, 2022, as President of Brazil, by defeating his rival, outgoing President Jair Bolsonaro, in the second and final round of the presidential elections.
