Czech writer: The West turns a blind eye to the Turkish regime’s criminal practices in Syria

Czech writer Alic Merta has expressed astonishment over the continuous silence of western countries towards the criminal practices of the Turkish regime in the north of Syria.

In an article published by a Czech website, Merta said that the West deliberately ignores the criminal practices of Recep Tayyib Erdogan regime and its affiliated terrorist groups in the Syrian territories and it also ignores this regime’s involvement in the war in Libya.

He pointed out that the western countries speak daily about the necessity of commitment to human rights and the international law, however, they ignore these issues when it comes to their higher interests and to the oil and gas resources in the Mediterranean.

Merta affirmed that if only the West had adhered to the principles it has been talking about, Turkey would have been expelled from NATO a long time ago. He pointed out that things always end this way when the policy of double standards is implemented.
