Czech writer: EU’s double standards in human rights issues are the embodiment of its moral failure

Prague( ST): –  Czech writer Peter Schnur asserted that the policy of double standards  the European Union applies on  human rights issues is an embodiment of its moral failure.

In an article published today in the Czech newspaper Bravo, Schnur pointed out that the double standards and contradiction in the European Union’s policies towards human rights is evident in its dealings with the situations in Syria, Belarus and Venezuela on the one hand and towards Ukraine and the situation in Saudi Arabia on the other.

Schnur stressed that the European Union is experiencing a moral fall, which can be clearly traced in the continued support of the West for what they call “moderate rebels” in Syria and the Middle East, noting that the  European public opinion has discovered that they are nothing but an extension of “Al Qaeda” and “Daesh” terrorists.
