The Czech tourism website, Tsesti and Bamatky, described Damascus as the heart of the world.
The website said in a report on the city of Damascus and its archaeological sites: The history of this ancient city and its antiquities are among the most important human civilizational landmarks, which prompted UNESCO to put its historical center as the most important monuments of the world.
The report presented the ancient history of Damascus and indicated that the first writings on it appeared in the fifth millennium BC, which makes it one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in the world.
The report provided a glimpse into the beauty and deep- rootedness of many of the antiquities of Damascus, including Qasr Al-Azem, Damascus Castle, Umayyad Mosque, Al-Hijaz Station, Bab Sharqi, and Bab Touma, highlighting the historical importance of this city and its cultural role at the global level.
