Czech Republic Announces it Rejects Declaration of Federation in Northern Syria

PRAGUE, (ST)- The Czech Republic and its government does not recognize the declaration of the so-called federation in northern Syria neither as an independent entity nor as an independent autonomy in accordance with the international law, a statement by the Czech Foreign Ministry said on Sunday.

The statement added that the Czech republic is against any kind of representation of this “federation”.

According to the statement, the Czech government does not also recognize the gathering which was established in the Czech Republic on October 29 under the name “popular protection units in Europe” as a member of international law, so it hasn’t established any kind of relation with this gathering.

On March 17th, a source at Syria’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates said “the government of the Syrian Arab Republic warns any party against attempting to undermine the territorial integrity of Syria and the unity of its people under whatever names and that includes those who met in al-Rmeilan city in Hasaka province.”

“Raising the issue of a federation would affect the territorial integrity of Syria, which goes against the Constitution, the national concepts and the  international resolutions,” the Syrian source clarified.
