Czech politician: Western sanctions against Russia weaken the West’s economy

PRAGUE, Aug.31, (ST)-Former Czech Deputy Foreign Minister Petr Drulak has stressed that the Western sanctions against Russia weaken the West’s economy and harm the countries that impose them more than Russia, warning that limiting energy imports from Russia will make the European economy in a very difficult situation.

Drulak said in an interview with the Czech “Parliamentary Papers” website that the West is unable to find an alternative resource of the Russian gas in a short time because this matter cannot be resolved within a year or two, but it will take about 10 years.”

He clarified that anti-Russian sanctions against the West, including stopping the export of some goods, would lead to the collapse of some industrial branches and fundamentally reduce the economic foundations of the West’s prosperity.
