PRAGUE, (ST)- The Czech Peace Forum has stressed that the Syrian Arab Army is fighting terrorism on behalf of the world and the Czech republic itself, urging the Czech leadership, citizens and political commissions to express their deep respect to this army.
In a statement of which SANA got a copy on Wednesday, the forum said “the Syrian army has been fighting in defense of its homeland against foreign interference for almost five years and it deserves recognition and appreciation.” The forum reiterated that “the fight against terrorism can be effective only if it is done in cooperation with the Syrian government and Russia.”
The forum urged the Czech President and government to exert active diplomatic efforts aiming to find a real solution to the crisis in Syria.
Commenting on the Turkish destructive role in Syria, the forum said “Turkey is part in the terrorist crimes being committed in Syria not a victim of terrorism as it describes itself.” “From the very beginning, Erdogan’s regime has supported the armed terrorist groups which have been trying to overthrow the Syrian government,” it added, asserting that all these terrorist groups have worked under different names like “the Free Army”, “Jabhet al-Nousra”, Daesh and “Ahrar al-Sham” to destroy the secular state in Syria and establish a religious system similar to that in the Gulf with the sponsorship of Turkey, the U.S. and Europe.
The Forum described the downing of a Russian fighter jet in Syria by Turkey last month as a “Turkish adventure risking international peace”, urging the Czech President, government and citizens to clearly condemn this attack.
Concerning the international military operations against terrorism in Syria, the forum affirmed that “Russia is the only foreign country that works in Syria in accordance with international laws whereas the operations of the so-called US-led anti-terror coalition are implemented completely out of the international law framework.”
The forum warned that the continuity of Washington coalition’s operations will harmfully hit the civilized coexistence among nations and countries of the world and it may lead to dangerous military confrontations the results of which can’t be expected.
The forum described US-led international coalition, which comprises Erdogan’s regime and the reactionary regimes in the Gulf, as farce and mockery of democracy, law and reason.”
