Czech Parliamentary Group for Friendship with Syria condemns Western unilateral coercive measures imposed on Syrian people, calls for lifting them

Prague,(ST)-The Czech Parliamentary Group for Friendship with Syria condemned the unilateral coercive Western measures imposed by the European Union on the Syrian people and the  interference in their internal affairs, calling for the immediate lifting of these measures.

Head of the Group Stanislav Grospic in a letter to the EU commission stressed that these unilateral measures are shameful  for all the countries of the EU, asserting that they aim to prevent the  achievement of a decisive victory in the war against terrorism .They are also hindering  the reconstruction process in Syria.

The group reiterated that these coercive measures are inhuman as they mainly target medicine, medical equipment needed for addressing the coronavirus and they represent a crime against the Syrian people.

The group also called for an  unconditional end to these measures as they are considered “criminal shameful means against a sovereign state.”
