Czech parliamentarian: The continued imposition of Western coercive economic measures on Syria is an inhuman act

Prague (ST): The head of the Moravian Czech Communist Party, member of the European Parliament from the Czech Republic, Katerjina Konicna, described the continued imposition of unilateral Western coercive economic measures on Syria as “absolute insolence.”

Konicna indicated in a statement to news reporter in Prague today that Syria, after the terrorist war that it was subjected to, needs to unite to rebuild its economy and start the  reconstruction process, but the only effect left by the coercive Western measures lies in the decline in the standard of living of Syrian citizens and the slowing down of the reconstruction process, which is considered an inhuman and immoral act.”

Konicna said that the West practices double standards in its proposals, as it talks about helping the peoples most in need and at the same time does everything it can so that Syria or other countries are not able to restore their activity and economic growth, stressing that “the application of international law should not be done in a manner that suits international players.”
