PRAGUE, (ST)- Director of the Center for Security and Strategic Military Studies at the Czech University of Defense, General Frantisek Micanek has stressed that the Saudi regime and the so-called West’s allies are responsible for the rise and spread of “Deash”, the terrorist organization calling itself the “Islamic State in Iraq and Levant” (ISIL).
In a statement to the Czech “Parliamentary Papers” website, Gen. Micanek said “the ideology of this terrorist organization was directly taken from the Wahhabi mentality prevailing in Saudi Arabia.”
He pointed out that “the Turksih regime, which is a NATO member, has a different view regarding the fight against Daesh; a view that raises inquiries about the benefit of alliance with such regimes.”
According to the Czech General, the Russian air operation against terrorism in Syria has surprised the NATO by its good planning and timing and by its effectiveness in defeating the Deash terrorists.
