Cypriot Foreign Minister Constantinos Kombos stated that his country seeks to strengthen good-neighborly relations with Syria.
He emphasized that lifting sanctions on Syria would be a highly symbolic move that paves the way for reestablishing ties with the country under its current leadership.
Kombos also noted that Cyprus supported the beginning of rapprochement with Syria despite the European Union’s expressed concerns.
