Cultural Festivals Enhance Power of Optimism among the Syrians: Lattakia Culture Director

Lattakia,(ST)- The one- week Lattakia Culture Festival  has recently wrapped up its activities at Dar al Assad for culture and art in Lattakia province with a folk show performed by Ugarit Dance group entitled” Syria..Color, Word, Music”.

He said The festival was held under the patronage of the Ministry of culture to reactivate the culture movement in the city and to mark the victory achieved by the Syrian Arab Army and allied forces on terrorism, Director of Culture Directorate in Lattakia Majd Sarem told Syria Times e-newspaper.

Sarem highlighted the success of this festival as a culture phenomenon that brought together all aspects of Syria culture.

 He underlined the importance of such festivals in spreading the power optimism among the Syrian people in order to confront the war waged on their country and to challenge the difficult circumstances the country is going through.

Shedding more light on the festival activities, Sarem said that the event included art exhibitions, book fair, theatrical shows , artistic performances, symposiums, musical concerts and interactive workshops for kids as well as entertainment activities.

Talking about the participation of the culture team for building life skills in Lattakia culture festival, Sarem highly appreciated the team’s key role and effective participation to bring a smile to Syrian children.

He stressed the need to ensure benefit and entertainment to the audience and to reduce the negative impacts of the crisis in Syria on children by motivating them to fully and effectively use their skills and by maintaining their responsibility towards themselves, their families and their homeland.
