The land cultivated with the wheat crop, under the supervision of the General Establishment for the Management and Development of the Forest in Hama governorate, amounts to 39 thousand hectares.
The Director of Plant Wealth in the Establishment, Eng. WafiqZarouf, said that 37,700 hectares of wheat were cultivated in irrigated lands, compared to 1,300 hectares in rainfed lands, in various areas, in implementation of the agricultural plan for the current season, which amounts to 52,725 hectares.
He added that there was availability of all production requirements from fertilizer, seed and fuel to implement the plan.
He expected an increase in agricultural operations, which usually continue until the end of this month, especially in rain-fed lands, after the recent rains in various regions of the governorate.
He indicated that the agriculture units continue to distribute diesel fuel for wheat cultivation, at a rate of 3 liters per irrigated dunum, and 2 liters per dunum of rainfed land.
