Cuban President reiterates his country’s firm support for Syria and its rejection of US sanctions against it
Havana (ST): Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel stressed the steadfastness of Cuba’s position in support of Syria, especially in its war against terrorism, and against the continuous Israeli aggressions that threaten peace in the Middle East and international peace and security.
During the presentation of the credentials of Dr. Ghassan Obeid as Syrian ambassador to Cuba, in the presence of Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez, Diaz-Canel expressed his absolute rejection of the measures, restrictions and sanctions imposed by the United States of America, the common enemy, on the Syrian people, which aim to obstruct the reconstruction process that the Syrian people and government aspire to.
The Cuban president praised the heroism achieved by the Syrian people, army and government in confronting the systematic terrorism supported by the West, and expressed his appreciation for the honorable stances of Syria in international forums and organizations, and the continuous support that Cuba receives from Syria.
