Cuban President calls for stopping foreign interference in Syria’s affairs and respect its sovereignty
New York (ST): Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel called for an end to external interference in Syria’s internal affairs, reiterating the need for full respect for its sovereignty, integrity and territorial integrity.
In his speech via video during the general debate of the 76th session of the United Nations General Assembly, Canel stressed the need to reach a political solution to the crisis in Syria and to find a just and comprehensive solution to the Arab-Israeli conflict by ending the Israeli occupation of the Palestinian territories and establishing an independent, sovereign Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital.
Canel also condemned the unilateral coercive measures imposed on Iran and called for their immediate lifting.
