MOSCOW- A Cubana de Aviacion passenger jet crashed while taking off from Havana’s Jose Marti international airport, CNN reported on Friday, according to Tass.
According to France Presse, there were 104 passengers aboard the plane.
Cuba’s Granma newspaper reported that four passengers had survived the crash.
They were taken to hospital in critical condition, according to the newspaper.
The Boeing-737 was bound to Guyana.
The daily Granma said nearly all passengers of the plane that crashed near Havana on Friday were Cuban citizens.
There were 105 people on board. Most of the passengers were Cubans, except for five foreign nationals and crew.

Putin offers condolences over passenger plane crash in Cuba
Russian President Vladimir Putin has extended his condolences to Cuban president, Miguel Diaz-Canel, over the numerous human deaths in the passenger plane crash at Havana’s airport, the Kremlin press service said on Friday.
“The Russian head of state offered the words of sympathy and support to the families of those killed in the crash and wishes of soonest recovery to the survivors,” the press service said.
