Cuban Deputy Foreign Minister: We cherish the distinguished relations with Syria

On November 24th, Cuban Deputy Foreign Minister Elio Rodríguez Perdomo expressed his country’s distinguished relations with Syria.

He said that the two countries share a bright history of joint struggle against imperialism and defense of the values of equality and justice.

Perdomo’s words came when he received a copy of Dr. Ghassan Obaid’s credentials as resident ambassador and plenipotentiary extraordinary of Syria to Cuba.

Perdomo wished Ambassador Obaid success in performing his duties, expressing the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ readiness to provide the necessary facilities and support he needs in performing his duties.

In his turn, Ambassador Obeid expressed his high appreciation for Cuba’s stances in support of Syria, especially in international forums and organizations.

He reiterated Syria’s stand by Cuba in the face of the unjust American blockade.

The two sides affirmed the strength of the friendly relations between the two countries, and their keenness to develop these bilateral relations in all fields.
