Cuba: Terrorism could not be eliminated as long as there are double standards in confronting it

DAMASCUS, (ST)_Cuba has affirmed that terrorism could not be completely  eliminated as long as there double standards, political opportunism and selectivity in confronting it.

The remarks were made by the Cuban embassy in Damascus.    

The embassy condemned all forms of terrorism that will remain a dangerous challenge to the international community.

It said in a statement released today that opening fire at Cuba’s Embassy in Washington is a direct result of US aggressive policy against Cuba and incitement of violence by politicians and anti-Cuba groups.

The embassy called on US to condemn this terrorist attack and to share with Cuba information about the attack, otherwise the US’s silence will be considered as collusion and tolerance with terrorism.

“US stance contradicts its anti-terrorism address. While Cuba has been put in the list of countries that do not cooperate with US in fighting terrorism, US insists on not recognizing that the attack on the Cuban embassy is a terrorist act,” the statement clarified.

It pointed out that state terrorism against has Cuba killed 3478 Cuban people and caused disability to 2099 others regardless the crimes of assassinating Cuban workers, farmers, fishermen, students, diplomats, fighters .

“12 consecutive US Administrations have preserved with their attempt to extinguish the torch of Cuba and the example of its revolution in the world,” the statement concluded.
