Cuba condemns Washington’s targeting of its medical programs

On July 23rd, Cuba condemned the allocation of millions of dollars by the United States of America to promote a campaign against Cuban medical cooperation.

Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez tweeted: “Without any justification, the United States launched a campaign to allocate millions of dollars to promote the campaign targeting Cuban medical cooperation.”

Rodriguez said that the United States is once again resorting to slander to discredit the noble humanitarian and solidarity work that Cuba is doing to support the health of other peoples.

Rodriguez denounced the US government’s attempt to continue depriving Cuba of economic sources of income and encouraging the theft of trained medical personnel, for clear sabotage purposes.

Rodriguez stressed the right of Cuba and other countries in the world to implement cooperation programs to care and protect the health of its people.

Rodriguez also stressed that the US policy is related to political revenge against Cuba, pointing out that health is a basic human right and that the US government is committing a crime by seeking to deny this right for political reasons.
