Cuba’s Deputy Foreign Minister, Anayansi Rodriguez, condemned the international silence over Israel’s ongoing crimes against the Palestinian people, stressing that this silence demonstrates the complicity of Powers and States, particularly the United States of America, with Israeli occupation practices and criminal acts.
In press statements to the Cuban and foreign media accredited in Havana, Rodriguez denounced Washington’s obstruction of the UN Security Council’s performance as an international organization responsible for maintaining international peace and security, through its use of a veto against any resolution to stop the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip, considering that the council thereby shows that it is undemocratic.
The Cuban official confirmed that her country will participate in the advisory opinion of the International Court of justice in The Hague, scheduled to be held between February 19 and 26, on the issue of genocide and Israeli massacres against the Palestinian people.
Rodriguez stressed that a comprehensive, just and lasting solution to the Palestinian issue, which is based on the right of the Palestinian people to self-determination, the establishment of their independent state with Jerusalem as its capital, and ensuring the right of Return of Palestinian refugees, cannot be postponed.
The Deputy Minister of Cuba explained that the International Court of Justice will be called upon to contribute its decisions to international justice and peace, stressing the need to declare (Israel) and its accomplices under current international law responsible for the genocide of the Palestinian people for decades.
