Cuba, Venezuela and Russia condemn the aggression against the Iranian consulate in Damascus

Havana and Caracas, (ST) -Cuba strongly condemned the Israeli aggression against the Iranian consulate in Damascus. It warned of the consequences of these actions that violate Syrian sovereignty and international law.

Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez Barrilla said in a post on the X platform: We strongly condemn the Israeli attack on the Iranian diplomatic headquarters in Damascus in a flagrant violation of Syrian sovereignty and international law.

These unacceptable actions increase the risk of escalation and regionalization of the conflict and portend unpredictable consequences, Rudiger Barilla stressed.

In turn, Venezuelan Foreign Minister Ivan Gil Pinto condemned the Israeli aggression. He expressed his country’s solidarity with the people and governments of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Syrian Arab Republic.

A statement carried by the Radio Havana Cuba website affirmed that Venezuela strongly condemns the attack launched by “Israel” on the Iranian consulate in Damascus, which is another example of the irrationality of the Zionist entity, which has become the largest source of instability in the region.

Gil Pinto expressed Venezuela’s solidarity with the people and governments of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Syrian Arab Republic.

He added: We offer our heartfelt condolences to the families and friends of the victims, and we hope for a speedy recovery for the wounded.

In a related context, The Russian Foreign Ministry strongly condemned the Israeli terrorist attack that targeted the Iranian Consulate in Damascus.

The ministry said in a statement yesterday: “It is absolutely unacceptable to attack diplomatic and consular representations whose immunity is guaranteed by the well-known Vienna Agreements”, warning of the dangerous consequences of Israeli attacks throughout the entire region.

The statement added: Such aggressive actions by “Israel” are  rejected and must be stopped, and it is necessary for all responsible members of the international community to define precisely their positions and provide their legal assessment of them, calling for the need to stop these provocative attacks in Syrian territories and other neighboring countries.
