Crowds mourn terror blasts’ martyrs in Homs

HOMS,(ST)_Crowds have mourned 33 martyrs, mostly kids,  killed in yesterday’s terrorist twin blasts in Ekrema quarter in Homs city amid condemnation of the heinous crime, the official news agency (SANA ) reported Thursday.

The agency said officials and people gathered for the funeral of the 33 martyrs, who were killed in the twin blasts that took place yesterday near two elementary schools – Ekrema al-Makhzomi School and Ekrema al-Mohdatheh School, in Ekrema quarter.

The mourners condemned the brutal crime perpetrated by Takfiri terrorists against schoolchildren.

Unprecedented tragedy

Secretary of the Baath Arab Socialist Party’s Homs branch Mohammad Issa described the terrorist act as a ‘heinous crime’ perpetrated by Takfiri terrorists backed by the US and the Turkish, Qatari and Saudi Arabia regimes against schoolchildren.

He underscored that such criminal acts would never undermine the steadfastness of the Syrian people.

Head of the Homs Governorate’s Council Suleiman al-Mohammad said that yesterday’s crime is an unprecedented tragedy against childhood.

Director of the two schools that were hit by the blasts expressed deep sorrow and grief over the death of the children in a brutal crime.

Yesterday, a suicide bomber blew himself up a few minutes after terrorists exploded a car bomb near two schools in Ekrema quarter, killing 33 civilians, including 25 kids, and wounding 167 others, mostly kids.

All students and teachers in Homs schools stood today morning a minute of silence for the souls of martyrs.
